There is a significant trend of modern civilization which is yet unnoticed by mainstream media: transformation of urban jungle into the urban desert. Man are women are walking alone in the streets of big town, doing shopping, looking for job, looking for love (in vain most of the time) or following daily routine; same as everyone else. There are thousands, millions of people around, new faces are flashing every second... Yet each and every one is lonely and mate-less, as if standing in the middle of the desert.
Four photographers from different corners of the world are addressing this the new phenomena at our new exhibition.
The Urban Solitude is a closing part of our BreXpat project which was supported by King Baudouin foundation. Participants: Satoru Toma ( Japan - Belgium ), Mariko Ogawa ( Japan - France), Leigh Dehaney ( Canada ), Jordan Tate ( USA )
